Rules and Regulations

The following are prohibited in the library:

  • Eating
  • Drinking
  • Smoking
  • Noise
  • Bags

Always show your student identification card to the security detail upon entering the Library. On leaving the Library, you are required to produce for inspection all books and items taken out of the Library.


Put your cellular phones on silent mode before entering the Library


The computers are to be used for scholarly research and the following are strictly prohibited:

  1. Visits to pornographic sites
  2. Playing computer games
  3. Playing of music
  4. Downloading of programmes
  5. Installation of software
  6. Removal of computer accessories

Any user found in violation of these regulations will be denied access to the Library and its resources for the remainder of the semester during which the offence was committed.

Observe silence in the Library

The Library is a place for research and quiet study. Anyone found making noise will be asked to leave the Library by the Library staff. Repeat offenders will be barred from entering the library for a period of one month.

Use of Library Laptops

Patrons can borrow a laptop that can only be used in the Library.

  • Laptops are strictly for educational purposes. Patrons can not add, delete or change any program or application.
  • Patrons are required to take responsibility for their accounts’ security and privacy.
  • Patrons should not use any other laptop charger or disassemble the one assigned.
  • Laptops must not be left unattended at all times.
  • Laptops are available on a first come first serve criteria.

 

 

 

Fines

In an attempt to have the Library’s collection circulate fairly among its membership and also to serve as a deterrent against hoarding books, the following fines will be charged.

  • Overdue Books

    Books on ordinary loan are charged per day, per item. Thereafter suspension from the Library until the fine is paid and the item is replaced. Reserve Books are charged per hour per, item. Thereafter suspension from the Library until the fine is paid and the item is replaced.

  • Lost material

    This covers the processing fee. Patrons are further required to replace the lost item. Library patrons with outstanding materials shall have their borrowing privileges suspended.
