Students with special needs

BUSE Library helps patrons with special needs

BUSE library aims to provide all its patrons with special needs with equitable access to all of its library services. Prospective and current students and staff with special needs are encouraged to notify the library during orientation. Patrons with special needs are assisted by library staff to get access to the library resources. These include those who are wheelchair bound, and those with visual impairments. They are assisted in using the Online Public Access Catalogue and retrieving library materials.

Wheelchair access is provided via rumps when entering the library. Assistance is based on individual needs be it taking the patron to the appropriate areas of the library, using the OPAC, retrieving print materials from the shelves or retrieving electronic resources.
