How To Access Electronic Resources

The term "electronic resource" refers to all information products that a library provides through computer based facilities, smartphones or e-book readers whether online or offline. Such resources include electronic books and journals, as well as bibliographic databases.

This guide will assist you in accessing e-resources which the Library subscribes to.

To start the processs navigate to the BUSE Library homepage.

    1. Step 1
      • Under the Electronic Resource menu click on the Electronic Resources on campus link
      • If you are on any of our campuses and you are using resources provided by BUSE then you should click E-Journals On Campus link
      • You should only click the E-Journals Off campus link if you are not on campus or if you are connecting using other means e.g a wireless dongle.
      • Once you have clicked on the appropriate link you will be taken to a page with a list of databases available. Databases are arranged in alphabetical order and accompanied by a brief description.

    2. Select the database of your choice and click on the link in the left column. If you are on campus you will be taken directly to the database of your choice e.g Emerald.

BUSE Library Home

      If you are off campus for the first time accessing the electronic resources, you will be required to log in
      • Enter your login details (as provided by the Library) and click the Login button. You should be taken to the homepage of your the resource you require.

      • Please note: Subsequent visits to other off campus resources will not require you to login, UNLESS you use a different browser or you close your browser.

    2. Key in your search query in the box provided and click search to conduct your search. For example you can search using
Emerald database
      and
economic activity
      as a search term.

    2. Select your desired results and click on
abstract
      or
full text
      depending on your need. You will also have a choice of formats from which you can download. Most databases provide PDF and HTML formats.
